Kindergarden

Children in early childhood are mostly exposed to limited spaces such as their schools, houses, grocery stores. Most of these spaces are created by 4 walls and a ceiling in box form. This project aims to create an outside of the ‘normal’ experience by having different levels of transparency, color and curves. Each program is represented by a different curved form depending on the use and functionality. Reflecting upon the research done on color theory and color in early childhood program is represented by a specific color and transparency. Multipurpose rooms are colored in orange because if used in high saturation this color is activating, motion oriented and warm. Administration is colored blue because its calming, encouraging, and inspires feelings of effortless movement. Outdoor spaces are mostly earthworks that are creating spaces for rest and play. The plan is set on a grid of cluster and surrounded by a layer of circulation. Complicated circulation in the plan is intentional and it allows children to experience multiple spaces before they can enter their final destination.
